TORONTO, ON August 12, 2015 – RTDNA Canada opposes in the strongest terms the charges laid against CTV News correspondent Tom Walters filed by St. Louis County while he reported on the protests in Ferguson, Missouri last year. RTDNA President Ian Koenigsfest said, “ Tom was simply doing his job under extremely trying conditions and we call on the authorities to drop the charges against Tom and the other journalists who have also been charged.” Koenigsfest added, “ RTDNA Canada fully supports CTV News in their defense of Tom Walters and the organization’s  unwavering commitment to defending the rights of all journalists.”
